Learn the basics of Eco-printing with ingredients straight from the kitchen. In this workshop, participants will use onion skins on pre-mordanted, tea-dyed fabric to create their own one-of-a-kind cotton bandanna. Although this technique uses ordinary ingredients you have in your kitchen, the results are extraordinary!
Workshop begins at 6 p.m.

Botanically Dyed and Sewn Komebukuro (Project) Bag
This modern-day project bag is inspired by the traditional Komebukuro style bag. Komebukuro bags are a traditional Japanese bag often used to carry rice as offerings to temples and shrines. During this 4-day workshop, you will first learn how to mordant and dye cellulose fabric using botanical dyes, then learn a few Shibori techniques and dye cellulose fabric with indigo. This yardage will be used to create your bag. Once the fabrics have been dyed, you'll be guided through the steps of designing and sewing your unique Komebukuro (project) bag, starting with cutting your dyed yardage into outer and lining pieces and drawstring tabs that will then be constructed using sewing machines.

Thank you for allowing me to share the joy of my carefully crafted, environmentally friendly and unique products.
Influenced by material and colors found in nature, my intent is to create one-of-a-kind pieces that have minimal impact on the environment.
Using all natural materials respectfully gathered in nature —plants, flowers, leaves, bark and nuts — I make my mark on silk, cotton and linen using formulas and techniques inspired by traditional methods used for hundreds, and sometimes, thousands of years.
